Character Areas - Meadow View

This character area reaches a more informal arrangement heading towards the edge of the development, focused on the relationship with open space of the Hitchin Meadow and of the Dane Walk.

This character area exhibits distinct variation in typology and plotting configurations moving away from the Avenue and consists of detached, semi-detached, and a small number of terraced properties arranged in groups and compositions.

The roofs are presented in a variety of forms including front gables and pitched roofs aligned parallel to the street.

Key buildings are made distinct by material selection, scale and enhanced detailing.

A distinctive treatment with boarding will be provided on the edges fronting onto the public open space to give this area its own special character and giving prominence to front gable features.

Pedestrian links connect this area to the network of public open space routes.
